- This 80,000-word book is the product of seven years of research in 15 archives across the United States. It provides a wealth of new primary evidence gathered from over 70 individual manuscript collections, including over 500 letters from National Security collections that have yet to be indexed. The monograph also uses 24 unpublished manuscript collections from the John F. Kennedy library, including recently declassified records pertaining to civil defence and material from over 75 local and national newspapers.
