- This paper reports the first theoretic model and novel user classification method for higher order sectorization, a key and cost-effective means of improving 5G network capacity. Significance stems from the proposed user classification method which largely outperforms the state-of-the-art approaches and the solid statistical model which provides a fast and effective tool for comprehensive quantifying cellular networks and the impact of system configurations and algorithms. It led to collaboration with Ranplan (Jie Zhang, Email:Jie.Zhang@ranplanwireless.com), new papers (DOI:10.1049/el.2016.3670, DOI:10.1109/TVT.2018.2869305, DOI: 10.1109/TVT.2019.2940460 and DOI: 10.1109/TVT.2018.2865814) and was followed by international groups (e.g. DOI:10.1109/ACCESS.2019.2937806 and DOI:10.1109/ACCESS.2019.2892187).
