- Zika virus (ZIKV) remains a potent infectious disease agent, with its associated pandemic prompting the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare it a global public health concern. In this study, we reported on a new immunofluorescence biosensor for Zika virus using an antigen-antibody detection format with hybrid nanomaterials composed of gold nanoparticle and quantum dots. Zika virus was detected in a wide concentration range with high sensitivity, selectivity, and rapid response time. The biosensor technology designed in the work has been applied to detect hepatitis C virus https://doi.org/10.1016/j.bios.2016.09.086), influenza virus (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.bios.2020.112090) and SARS-CoV-2Ngene (https://doi.org/10.1021/acsnano.0c03822).
