- This well-cited work won the Best Paper Award at Performance 2014, which is one of the two top conferences in performance evaluation. It provided the first exact analysis of general feedforward caching networks, which are key components in the architecture of computer and communication systems, and showed that state-of-the-art prior solutions relying on analytically convenient Poisson approximations could be inaccurate by large margins. This paper has inspired fundamental work on novel caching architectures and performance models and techniques by leading researchers (Leonardi, Turin; Van Houdt, Antwerp; Towsley, UMass Amherst; Sitaraman, UMass Amherst; Lui, CUHK; Harchol-Balter, CMU; Shroff, Ohio State).
