- This book is the culmination of sustained and ongoing research using creative, participatory methods with vulnerable or marginalised groups, including children and young people who are carers, people with serious mental health problems and people with learning difficulties. These groups are often excluded from research studies because of the perceived difficulties of accessing and including them in research that addresses their needs. The book sets out, for the first time, a model of participatory research for working in more creative and ‘bottom up’ ways with vulnerable or marginalised participants, tested through more than 200 qualitative interviews over ten years.
