- Double-weighted statement
- This book is based on extensive research on the classical music profession in Germany and the UK. It encompasses original, qualitative data (64 interviews), newly collected quantitative data (including gender and racial background of orchestral musicians in the UK), and extensive analysis of publications as well as industry reports. All qualitative interviews were recorded, transcribed and analysed in depth. Some of the quantitative data was difficult to access (such as the demographic background of orchestral musicians) and the book was one of the first to collect, analyse and present such a wide range of data on the classical music sector.
