- This book is a result of five years research with a significant amount of time doing fieldwork in Lebanon. Entailed carrying out elite and technical level interviews, often with hard-to-reach interviewees such as representatives of Hezbollah. The research also entailed access to sources such as the proceedings of the Lebanese Parliament, sessions that can only be acquired through the difficult to access Parliament library. The research used multiple methodologies including archival research, interviews and content analysis based on software such as Nvivo.
