- This joint paper presented the current novel results of the international cooperated projects funded by the UK (KESS II 20428) and China (Grants 61475175, 6141130132, 2014KTSCX153, and 2015A030313633) to deliver a high-brightness white light source for automotive headlamp, digital projection, and endoscopy application. Compared with LED light source, this technology can have better efficiency with higher power out. £0.5m is invested to a spin-off company Foshan Huikang Optoelectronics Ltd to develop the commercial products using this technique. Further initial agreement with Volkswagen Wolfsburg is also committed to develop a novel light source for adaptive headlamp. (Heiko Schröder, heiko.schroeder1@volkswagen.de).
