- The novel idea of feature optimization was recognized by the invitation to be guest editor in a special issue “Complex Deep Learning and Evolutionary Computing Models in Computer Vision” in Hindawi Complexity (https://www.hindawi.com/journals/complexity/2019/1671340/). The medical imaging aspect of the research also led to a keynote speech on “Design, Development, and Application of Computational Intelligence-based Systems”, in International Conference on Science and Technology, 23-25/04/2018, India. The evolutionary computation work underpins a successful European Regional Development Fund – Industrial Intensive Innovation Programme (IIIP) PhD studentship (10/2018-10/2021), in collaboration with the world’s first Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) start up, Ocucon Ltd.
