- This monograph is the result of sustained engagement with the work of the French philosopher Gilbert Simondon, in particular regarding what it means for understanding contemporary media technologies. It both aims to explain Simondon’s work for a broad audience as well as develop a significant intervention in Media & Communication theory. The text is the culmination of several years of research and involved translating significant portions of material as well as developing in depth engagements with related subject topics such as Information theory, philosophy of technology, Cultural Studies and authors such as Bruno Latour, Martin Heidegger and Friedrich Kittler.
