- In the context of smart cities and electric cars, this paper presents a new protocol to ensure cars can communicate with smart grids without being tracked via their IP addresses. Offering mutual authentication, location unlinkability and identity anonymity for electric cars while achieving authorised traceability is essential for this service. The proposed protocol is validated and proved using formal and informal methods. This work formed the base for an application to the Research Fund for International Young Scientists in China titled “Research on Secure and Privacy-preserving Mobile IPv6 Protocol for IoT Devices in Smart Environments”.
