- Jane Austen and William Shakespeare: A Love Affair in Literature, Film and Performance is a lengthy collection jointly edited by Periago (QUB) and Marina Cano (Limerick), and draws upon their collective and combined research knowledge on both authors and theories of appropriation. The book is a major undertaking, comprising an introduction, 17 chapters and an afterword (415pp. in total). As well as jointly editing all of these essays, Periago co-wrote a lengthy introduction (with Cano, 25 pp.) and her own essay, ‘Shakespeare, Austen and World War Two’ (22pp.).
