- Double-weighted statement
- Based on extensive archival discoveries and the close scrutiny of dozens of manuscripts and editions, the “Restored” texts correct, expand, and entirely reframe the experimental “cut-up” novels originally published in the 1960s and generally either misunderstood as messy monstrosities or misread as early works of Postmodernism. The editions demonstrate for the first time the complexity and rigour of Burroughs’ chance-based remix methods, as well as his texts’ enduring cultural and political relevance. With introductions and notes adding up to 100,000 words of new material, the Restored editions have been recognised as scholarly landmarks in taking seriously Burroughs’ most radical experiments.
