- Guoxing Xia: G. Xia played a major role in developing (i) the pepper-pot emittance diagnostics (design, constriction, operation, data analysis) and (ii) the accelerating field modelling for the 1m-long travelling wave structures. The pepper-pot emittance measurement is the key diagnostic for measuring the electron beam quality at the AWAKE experiment prior to the energy boost. He supervised PhD students who provided simulations for the proton-plasma interactions and determined the electron emittance.
