- This paper proposes a new sound absorber constructed with perforated honeycomb-corrugation hybrid core that exhibits both superior broadband low-frequency sound absorption and excellent mechanical stiffness/strength. The paper led to a keynote speech (IUTAM Symposium “Acoustic/Elastic Metamaterials, Their Design and Application”, June 5th – June 9th, 2018, Beijing). The hybrid absorber led to a patent application (CN108656641A), which showed a promising prospect in industrial applications.
