- This primary source edition, of 220,000 words, is the fruit of over ten years of work. It contains the transcriptions and extended summaries of 190 petitions, letters and bills showing how the medieval inhabitants of Lincolnshire interacted with the English crown across a period of three hundred years. The sources, published for the first time, have been selected from a number of series kept by The National Archives, Kew. Each document is extensively researched and extended historical context and explanation amounting, cumulatively, to over 50,000 words, is provided. The Introduction extends to 25,000 words.
