- This monograph joins together—for the first time—two traditionally parallel streams of enquiry in the regulation of international civil aviation: economic regulation and environmental regulation. In the process, it identifies and evaluates contemporary, transnational economic and environmental challenges facing globalised aviation (fair competition, consumer protection and greenhouse gas emissions), and the multilevel legal and policy responses. Engagement with the themes and linkages that arise from these diverse issues contributes to the wide scope of the book. The four substantive chapters of the book could have been published instead as four or more substantial journal articles.
