- In manufacturing-as-a-service, production facilities 'bid' to manufacture a product type (often small volumes), and the human-authoring of manufacturing process plans and their associated production software is uneconomic. Previous approaches to the automated synthesis of provably correct process plans and software did not support parallel actions on parts or assemblies or nondeterminism in the manufacturing resources. By addressing these limitations, this work significantly extends the applicability of the manufacturing-as-a-service model.
