- This edited book collection is thoroughly grounded in Williams’ ongoing research into audience and fan responses to the ends of favourite media objects. The collection maps the competing theoretical and methodological approaches to this area of study, offering a voice to contributors from across career stages. The book is the first to bring together academics working on media fandom to interrogate the impact of endings across a range of media forms, genres, and texts including music, television, and theatre. Williams is the sole editor of the collection having first conceived it and delivered it to final publication. She commissioned each of these new and original chapters and contributed her own original substantial chapter. She wrote the Introduction to the book, setting out the research context and approaches that influenced the collection.
