- The results presented in this paper demonstrate for the first time that conventional techniques are not adequate for modelling dampers in railway vehicle pantographs running at very high speed. The work is the result of an international collaboration between the UK and China and, although still at a relatively early stage, it has led to a project funded by the British Council between UK and Chinese academic and industry partners to develop the modelling methods into a practical tool and to set up additional test facilities.
