- Double-weighted statement
- This 274-page monograph establishes a comprehensive global view of these museums as nation making institutions. This required the analysis of literatures in a number of languages, extensive international fieldwork and funding from a range of international bodies. Offering a scale of analysis not previously attempted in this discipline, the development of the book's themes and argument involved a complex, multi-layered, creative process. The book took 5 years to research and write; its 9 chapters is each equivalent to a journal paper.
