- First article to demonstrate and propose that thermal data and structural responses can be useful in assessing the integrity and safety of bridges - contrary to commonly-held belief. The output led to: a Best Paper Award (2017) at the 8th International Conference on Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure (235 delegates from 25 countries); a World Class Scholar (SCKD 2018) award from the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education; and a doctoral training programme funded by the Indonesian government (led by the final author) to support 40 PhD students at the University of Warwick, focusing on infrastructure resilience.
