- This book is the result of an 8-year research project, funded by the ESRC (£400,950). It involved detailed empirical research in six countries including 244 key informant interviews alongside investigation of extensive documentary evidence. It develops an entirely innovative methodological approach to the study of the trade-labour linkage which greatly extends the scope of previous work in the field. As a result it provides detailed insights into a range of other key debates; the role of civil society in trade governance, the relationship between public and private labour regulation and the progressive possibilities for trade governance in the 21st century.
