- ‘The Impact Agenda’ represents a significant body of work amassed over a ten-year period, consisting of multiple and diverse strands of empirical evidence. It is ostensibly the first and only book which synthesizes data collected in the UK and internationally and drawn from hard-to-reach populations – including parliamentarians and policy-makers – in problematizing the policy genesis and evolution of impact as an aspect of scholarly activity and performance-evaluation. The book is furthermore distinctive for its coherence of multi-disciplinary perspectives including critical policy studies; science/technology studies; and educational sociology in analysing the consequences of an impact agenda for global higher education.
