- Double-weighted statement
- Older people with mild depressive disorders/subthreshold depression suffer significant impairments in their quality of life and level of functioning and may go onto develop severe depression. This large complex trial involved clinical, economic and qualitative process evaluations demonstrating that effectiveness was mediated by intervention relevance and engagement. In this trial, we showed that a ‘low-intensity’, inexpensive intervention previously developed by Richards (CADET) for major depression was effective for this new population and could be delivered in the NHS at an acceptable cost–benefit ratio. This report describes the results of all three study components, including clinical, economic and process studies.
