- The novel at scale, public consultation process pioneered in this study generated ideas and insights with practical application to a light-rail infrastructure development project in England. This collaboration with industry partners and UK Government augmented traditional public engagement practices by capturing and incorporating the lived experience of citizens. This project has since been identified by an International magazine, Forbes, for its novel public engagement strategy [https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbesbusinesscouncil/2020/03/16/the-role-of-end-users-in-smart-city-innovation/#6ff9d2de6c6a] and helped secure funding to study the updated light-rail infrastructure in the North East of England. This research was an international collaborative project involving the UK (Northumbria University) and Australia (Monash University).
