- This article is underpinned by an extensive and influential dataset. The team pioneered the use of management data produced routinely by the Children and Family Court Advisory Service [Cafcass England]. Processes of gaining data access, data interpretation, quality appraisal and restructuring were complex (funded 2013-2017 by the Nuffield Foundation). The dataset necessitated code development and testing, to enable work with restructured, de-identified data sets inside the agency's platform, with no requirement for extraction of identifiable data. The team then established a methodology for reconstructing (linking) parent and child relationships over time, contrasting sharply with the monthly administrative snap-shot reports.
